Veracruz, as it is well known, is “the state that has it all”: culture, gastronomy, music, folklore, ecotourism, among others. Xka-n’s purpose is to honor our Totonaca culture, where we emphasize the wealth and biodiversity of our region.
Xka·n means “water” in Tepehua, an indigenous Totonaca language; for the Totonacas, water is sacred.
“You who bathe nature, protect the hills with your being, quench the thirst of all plants, refresh the land where I was born. Come, get close to the people, they need you”totonaca water poem
